This vacation apartment in Florence is situated on 2 floors, for a total of 80 m2 / 861 sq ft. The first level is on the ground floor, with just two steps to climb while the lower floor is in the basement with a beautiful Florentine terracotta brick ceiling.

Upon entering there is the living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a breakfast bar that seats up to 4 and a double sofa bed (160 cm / 63 in). Continuing on the left is the bathroom with shower and finally the master bedroom with 160 cm / 63 bed that cannot be divided into 2 single beds, from which there is access to the small and charming inner courtyard and laundry area.

In the beautifully restored "basement" (see photos) there is the second bedroom with twin beds that can be coupled together to form a double bed of 180 cm / 71 in, and a relaxation area with sofa and a wonderful bathroom with a shower carved out from an ancient cistern from the 1300s.

This lovely apartment in Florence is a very special and one-of-a-kind apartment. For all those who do not want to sleep on the lower floor can opt for the comfortable sofa bed in the living room and take advantage of the lower floor as a useful relaxation area. The location also makes it perfect for both short and medium term rentals.

The apartment is located in the Santa Croce district on the eastern edge of Florence’s historic city centre. The area takes its name from one of the city’s most remarkable churches. The Santa Croce neighbourhood provides a rare glimpse of “old” Florence with lively markets and tiny leather and artisan workshops, including the flea market (Mercato delle Pulci) at Piazza dei Ciompi. The Mercato St. Ambrogio, the city’s second main food market after the Mercato San Lorenzo, is within close walking distance too.

Parking: The Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red /green light) in order to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one nearest the apartment you are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify their need for access in the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.

Note: This property for rent is not a hotel, agritourism, B&B or similar, and therefore by law, extra services similar to those you may find in these types of accommodations, such as a reception, concierge or security, receiving mail, provision of meals and drinks, cleaning and change of linen during your stay, and amenity kits with soaps etc. are strictly prohibited.
