This villa near Siena is set amidst the woodlands for total privacy; Surrounded by oak groves known for truffles and porcini mushrooms, it has been wonderfully restored, lovely decor, infinity edge pool with amazing views.
The house has been recently restored with great care and attention to the smallest detail, retaining many of the original features common to Tuscan architecture both externally and internally; the decor is elegant but eclectic, all rooms have exposed beam ceilings, lime washed walls in soft colours and terracotta tiled floors, with some twists of Italian modern design in the fireplaces, bathrooms and outdoor features.
Vacation Property Details
An unpaved drive of approx 3.5 km lined by cypress and oak trees leads to the house which is enclosed at the front by large walled and paved courtyard, in which is the original pizza and bread oven and a covered dinning and lounge area overlooked by an upper loggia.
In keeping with the original structure there are two principle entrances to the house; one leading into the entry hall and a cloakroom and laundry.
To the right is a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower, suitable of wheelchair access.
The second entrance enters a large country kitchen equipped with all modern amenities; suitable also for cooking classes and demonstrations. There is an open fireplace, a large oven, and fridge with freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. Tuscan walnut veined travertine has been chosen for the work surfaces together with local polished chestnut for the central island complimenting the natural elements in the house.
An open archway leads to the dining room, where a side door opens onto a small-furnished terrace with views overlooking the woodlands towards the barn. Behind is another twin bedroom and bathroom with shower.
From the left another open archway leads up to the living room which has a spectacular fireplace build on the natural rock on which the house was constructed, two French doors open onto a ‘Zen’ terrace which overlooks the pool, perfect for enjoying the last rays of the evening light and cocktails.
Steps lead down to the lower garden and park. Immediately below is the infinity pool (4,5 x 13 mt), with a travertine terrace, which blends into the natural surrounding rocky environment. A fountain of fresh water flows continually into the pool providing beautiful clear water and a wonderfully refreshing back massage.
From the entry hall two flights of antique travertine stairs lead up to the landing, which opens onto a covered terrace overlooking the courtyard.
To the right is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and to the left a large reception room with open fireplace and two further double/twin bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, each with a shower and bathtub.
The adjacent barn has been converted in a more contemporary style; light and airy with an open plan design, providing accommodation for further four persons. This is a wonderful little hideaway, the views into the nearby oak forest make it feel like a 'tree house' - lovely getaway.
On the upper level are two bedrooms, one double, and one twin each with bathroom with and shower, from the mezzanine an open staircase leads down from the living area with fireplace.
Two large doors open onto a paved terrace for ‘al fresco’ dining. To the left is an open plan dining room and kitchen.
