Vacation Property Details

Beautifully restored large farmhouse, located on 14 acres of land, near the lovely town of Isle sur la Sorgue. A country lane runs along cultivated fields, pastures and hedges. A row of olive trees leads you to the entrance framed by two stone pillars and box trees. You catch sight of the side of the house.
The beautiful tall façade displays red shuttered windows. The original front door and its antique frame is centrally positioned and framed by large pottery jars planted with flowers.
It opens onto a south facing lobby and a lovely set of stone stairs leading up to the floors where 2 of the bedrooms – the “Souleiado” and “Provence Bleue”- are situated, one above the other.

From this entrance a door to the left also leads to the “English” bedroom on the ground floor.( see below)

The smaller southern entrance goes right under the stone stairs and leads to the northern entrance which is situated to the rear of the house and is accessible from the outside by means of a glassed door.

The northern entrance also allows access to: 1) a corridor that leads to a second stone staircase to the rear and 2 bedrooms – the” Moisson”and “Perchée” rooms- situated one above the other.
2) an office area with flagstone flooring on the ground floor. This room is pleasantly furnished and is also used as a TV room; it has a lovely arched glassed door leading out onto the gravelled courtyard, close to a welcoming cypress tree,

On this level you will also find the lounge and family room – that run the entire length of the house from the northern entrance and towards the river.
The living quarters are made of wide, comfortable, cheerful and practical rooms. A very cosy open plan lounge runs into a family room to create a wonderful friendly and airy living space for all:
The lounge: The atmosphere is very British with traditional wood and plaster ceiling, tan leather club armchairs in perfect harmony with the walls, the sofas and armchairs upholstered in interesting flannel fabric. Wooden flooring in the same tone and a piano complete the picture. There are beautiful ornate doors leading out onto the terrace, the plane trees and the overwhelming jasmine and honeysuckle plants.
A large fire place centrally situated in the room and open on both sides can be used as an indoor BBQ, it separates the lounge from the family room.

The family room: It is an extension that is not as old as the rest of the building, it has been added on to create a huge and light room with high beamed ceilings. The family room is indeed both a dining room and a kitchen. This is the heart of the house.

The floor is made of wood and flag stones. Many objects and pieces found in antique shops and “brocante” furnish this spacious area.

A stunning bar counter with stools hide part of the kitchen area, there is a large dining room table that can seat many guests. A large ornate glass door opens out directly onto a deck made out of exotic wood and situated to the side of the house close to the river. You will simply love taking your meals there. There is a “plancha”, cooking plate, at your disposal on this terrace.

Between the lounge and family room a lobby leads to a guest rest room and further along to the “Eau Vive” bedroom.

KitchenVery well appointed open plan kitchen with a long bar/worktop area and stools: 3 refrigerators – a small one in the kitchen, a large one in the pantry next door and another one in one of the out houses, 2 freezers – one in the pantry and one in an out house, 2 coffee machines and 1 espresso machine, dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave oven and electric oven.
