This villa is located at Marina Grande, the main beach of Positano, in the midst of the fashionable and vibrant centre, with all the restaurants, the colourful clothes and sandals shops. Just by stepping out the house, one is immersed in the life of this magic village: walk to the beach, admire the painters' work or the fishermens' nets lined in the sun; indulge in shopping or just go for a swim down at the pebbly beach.
The Positano Beach House is tucked away behind the beachside restaurants, a charming spacious independent house dating back to the 17th Century, spread over two levels and recently refurbished to a high standard. The owners have taken great care to add their personal touch and have decorated the villa in rich pastel tones and furnished it in an elegant Mediterranean fashion.
The house is approx 160 sqm ( 1600 sq feet). The entrance is through a patio into a large living room and dining area, with two French windows to the terrace with dining table for 6.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with window and doors to the terrace – toilet room with WC, wash basin, etc.
Up a short internal flight of stairs you find a compact Double bedroom with French windows to balcony and shower room en suite; Another double bedroom with French windows to balcony; And finally there is a bedroom with bunk beds (beds cannot be joined) with French windows to terrace There is one bathroom with shower
The Positano beach house is air conditioned throughout, washing machine, dishwasher, radio - cassette player, central heating Garden: Large terrace equipped with garden furniture and awning, looking over a lush garden adjacent to the house.
Services There is an English speaking manager on call.
Maid service: weekly cleaning payable locally in cash Euro 120,00 including 4 hours of midweek service and cleaning with change of linens on Saturday. On request extra hours payable locally, approximately 10 Euros per hour.
Porters available on request, payable locally.
Utilities:
Electricity, air conditioning and heating payable locally according to consumption at Euro 0,42 per kwh. Refundable damage deposit of Euro 500, is due upon arrival in cash (euro) or double signed travellers' cheques. No other form of payment will be accepted.
Access: 6 steps from road level. Car is not essential. Access is by taxi to main square of Positano and then on foot, 300 m walking.
Distances: Internal bus stop approx. 300 m from the house.
From the main road above the house a short bus ride (every 15/30 min) takes guests to the top of the village (La Sponda) from where the blue SITA buses leave regularly for Sorrento (30 min) or Amalfi (40 min).
To the right of the main beach numerous ferries and hydrofoils ply daily between Positano and Capri (50min), Naples (50 min), Amalfi (30 min) and Salerno (1/2 h).
Within few steps walk there is a variety of shops, bars, internationally known boutiques and various restaurants.
